Our Program.

Reorientation is a time limited program in which the staff creates a service plan with the clients to set goals for self sufficiency within 18 months. Our goal is to have our women ready to get back into society as re-oriented and self-sustaining parents.

Why?

Reorientation seeks to create a strong and solid community for future generations. The City of Chicago recently performed a point in time count of its homeless population.

By the end of January 2019, the City of Chicago reported that there was a total of 5,290 people that were homeless. 41% of those counted were females which totaled 2,169 women.

There is a lack of safe and affordable housing in Chicago especially for the ex-offender that may be mentally ill and substance abusers. These women are released from the Illinois Department of Corrections with $30 and in most scenarios, they are returning to the same environment or with family which is usually unhealthy and does not create a sustainable future.

How?

Re-Orientation offers safe housing that is linked to other services within the community that will provide the mothers with skills to become self sufficient and will stabilize the family upon parole.

The staff will work within the community and provide wrap around services for housing, mental health, job readiness, parenting classes, and self sufficiency.
